Counselling for Women
Compassionate counselling for women healing mother–daughter relationships and childhood trauma in Brighton or Online
Services
Mother Daughter counselling for women in Melbourne and online, supporting women who are navigating relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, childhood trauma, and major life transitions.
My work is grounded in somatic awareness, clinical EFT therapies, and neuroscience-informed approaches, helping you reconnect with your body and emotions with inner clarity, in a safe and supported way.
Mother Daughter Counselling for Women
This is a space for you to slow down and explore what’s happening beneath the surface.
I specialise in supporting women navigating the often complex and deeply emotional mother–daughter relationship.
In sessions, we gently work wherever you’re at right now, and together we begin to understand how your past may still be shaping your present experience.
These patterns can shape identity, self-worth, boundaries, and how we relate to other women and ourselves.
This work creates space to:
- Understand inherited emotional patterns
- Integrate long-held resentment or grief
- Strengthen boundaries and self-expression
- Develop compassion without self-abandonment
Sessions are available in-person in Melbourne or online via Zoom.
Trauma & Somatic Counselling
Somatic work gently supports you to regulate your nervous system, build inner safety, and process unresolved emotions at a pace that feels manageable for you.
We listen to what your body is holding — using somatic awareness to support deeper integration and healing.
This approach may support:
- Childhood trauma and attachment wounds
- PTSD or complex trauma responses
- Emotional shutdown or overwhelm
- Difficulty trusting or feeling safe in relationships
Midlife & Life Transitions
For many, this time is for re-defining oneself. Perhaps mourning the loss of our younger self, or identity. It’s a time of reflection, change, and a re-evaluation of identity, purpose and relationships.
This counselling space supports you to navigate this time with greater clarity, self-trust, and emotional grounding.
How sessions work
Sessions are a collaborative process where you are supported to explore your inner world safely, and at your own pace.
We begin with what feels most present for you and gradually work toward deeper understanding and integration over time.
You can choose:
- In-person counselling in Melbourne
- Online counselling via Zoom

” I’m happy to write this review for Mariana, who has helped me navigate my estranged relationship with my mother over the past year. Before working with Mariana, I felt defeated every time I reached out to my mum. The same old stories seemed to repeat themselves, leaving me feeling hurt and hopeless. Through Mariana’s guidance, counselling skills, and compassionate support, I was able to release much of my emotional pain and develop greater self-compassion—for both myself and my mother. And with her continued support, my mum and I have reconnected and developed a better understanding of one another, though it’s been slow going. Mariana creates a space that is kind, compassionate, safe, and professional. I highly recommend her to any woman experiencing difficulties in her relationship with her mother or seeking support through family challenges” Stella, Brighton

Can I claim any part of the session cost through Medicare?
At the moment, rebates on a Medicare plan aren’t available for Counsellors, however, I keep my fees affordable in order to assist clients to attend therapy. If you have Private Health Insurance with Extras cover, you might be able to claim benefits for counselling. It’s best to check with your health fund to see if you’re eligible.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is all about getting to know each other, and understanding what’s going on for you right now. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and at ease as we start to explore what you want to achieve.
